Focus Point Collaborates with Miss Tourism International for World Sight Day: “Every Story Counts” Across Continents

Focus Point Vision Care Group Sdn Bhd (Focus Point), Malaysia’s leading optical retail chain, concluded its World Sight Day 2025 celebration with a special collaboration with Miss Tourism International at Mid Valley Megamall. Themed “Every Story Counts,” the event brought together 37 international delegates representing continents across the globe to share stories and perspectives on eye health from their respective regions.

Throughout the seven-day roadshow, Focus Point engaged more than 2,000 visitors through free comprehensive eye screenings, educational sessions on vision care and myopia management, and a used eyewear donation drive to support underserved communities.

Aligned with the global World Sight Day 2025 theme, “Every Story Counts,” Focus Point’s campaign aimed to remind the public that behind every pair of eyes lies a story of life, hope, and vision. “Every story counts because every pair of eyes represents a dream, a purpose, and a future worth seeing clearly,” said Dato’ Liaw Choon Liang, Founder, President & CEO of Focus Point Holdings Berhad. “Through this collaboration, we hope to inspire more people to care for their vision and understand that eye health connects us all.”

During the event, Miss Tourism International delegates highlighted eye health issues and progress from their continents, from the rising prevalence of myopia in Asia, to cataract prevention efforts in Africa, and limited access to vision care in parts of South America. Their shared message emphasized that eye health is a global concern that transcends borders, cultures, and generations.

As the week-long campaign drew to a close, Focus Point celebrated the success of its nationwide World Sight Day efforts, which educated thousands on the importance of eye care and early detection. The event ended with a strong call to action for all Malaysians to “Love Your Eyes,” schedule regular eye check-ups, and support community initiatives that make vision care accessible for everyone.
