Full, sexy lips are all the rage now, thanks to the likes of celebrities such as Scarlet Johansson, Kylie Jenner, Angelina Jolie, etc. Still, we don’t really have to turn to surgery to enjoy fuller-looking lip!
Instead, why not go down a path of non-invasive methods as well as using natural alternatives that will not only have your lips look plumper but healthier too?
Cinnamon Oil
This spice isn’t just your go-to baking or cooking necessity, it works wonders on your lips too. Cinnamon oil, rich in antioxidants, is an excellent lip-plumper, as it draws blood to the skin and naturally puffs up the lips for an irresistible-looking pout. As cinnamon oil tendS to be on the strong side and may leave a burning sensation if applied directly, add a mixture of the oil with olive oil and apply them on your lips. It will also keep your lips feeling tender, soft and healthy
Base Coats Aren’t Just For Nails!
Just like how you apply a base coat before applying a top coat for your nails, do the same for your lips and it will work wonders. Lip balms add a hydrating look and you will be surprised by how plumper your lips will look too. Tip: choose lip balms that are infused with essential oils such as peppermint which is a natural circulation-enhancer, bringing more blood flow to your lips.
Ice Those Lips
If you are squeezed for time, this method delivers instant results. The trick? Massage an ice cube on your lips for two minutes. This temporary method will compress your blood vessels to make them look red and plump. Note: be extra careful with using ice to avoid getting sick from bacteria. Use only clean ice from your ice tray.
Draw The Lips You Want
Quite possibly the oldest trick in the book, use a lip liner each time you apply lip colour to your lips. Slightly over-line it and then only fill it in with colour – it will give you larger-looking lips. Stick to a natural skin tone to make it pop. Finish of with gloss and check you out!
Sugar Scrub
Exfoliating your lips with coconut oil and sugar will increase blood flow to your lips, leaving you with a touch of volume and a lovely rosy colour. Tip: mix sugar and coconut oil in an airtight small container and keep it at the bathroom sink!
Try The Highlighting Trick
Applying makeup highlighter above the cupid’s bow of your lips and down the centre of your lower lip will reflect light giving the illusion of larger lips.
Smooth Lips
Take a soft toothbrush and dunk it in water. Gently buff your lips in concentric circles as small and circular motions will help boost circulation, giving your lips a rosy hue.
Go For Paler Shades
Vampy colours are a big no-no if you want big lips as dark colours often flatten the appearance of your mouth. Choose nudes or pale pinks for a bigger pout.
A Dab Of Honey
Just a dab of honey will make your lips super moisturised. Hydrating your lips is key to make them naturally fuller.
A Neat Method
We assure you that even beginners can do this and be amazed with the results. First, colour in your lips with lipstick, then grab a white liner and draw a line down the middle of your lips, tapping and blending the line into the lipstick until it’s bare noticeable. The line creates a hint of subtle dimension that automatically makes your lips look fuller.
Two Shades Of Nude
Use two different nude lip colours. Apply one shade all over your mouth and the lighter colour or even a white lip crayon in the middle of your lips. If you have a full top lip but a smaller bottom lip or vise versa, only apply the lighter shade to the opposite lip. It will even your lips out and make them both look fuller. After applying lipstick, line the outside of your lips with concealer. Use a skinny brush and some cover-up to line the outside of your lips.
